The Level 1 experience consists of a review of the detailed Retail Store Questionnaire filled out by the owner/manager, which covers the major categories of retail management plus the individualized concerns of the store. The assessment is focused on providing pragmatic, practical, and instantly implementable retail management solutions to your toughest retail challenges. From crisis management to chronic problems, Rick’s seen it all, and he can help you find your way to retail success!

This questionnaire will be evaluated by Rick Segel and then discussed on a recorded telephone call lasting a minimum of one hour. This retail consulting session will address and troubleshoot the store’s individual concerns and will be customized to the individual merchant.

After reviewing your pre-evaluation questionnaire, photos of your store’s interior, exterior, layout and merchandising efforts, and your online presence, including store website and social media presence, retail expert Rick Segel will:

The way Level 3 works:

  • Step 1: Pre-visit: The retail store owner/manager will be required to complete a preprogram questionnaire, which will help Rick uncover:
    • Opportunities for increased retail sales profitability
    • Strengths and weaknesses in visual merchandising, store layout, retail signage, marketing campaigns and more
    • The nuts and bolts of retail store operation that can make your life easier and your store stronger
    • Retail management training to make the most out of your employees
    • Easy ways to enhance your online presence
    • And more!
  • Step 2: Pre-visit: A phone call to help clarify the major points that will be discussed and any issues pertaining to the questionnaire.
  • Step 3: The In-Store Visit: This 7-hour intensive evaluation and discussion will cover every aspect of your retail store’s viability. It is accomplished by observation and by meeting one-on-one with store management and your retail sales staff. It can also include a staff meeting with you and key employees to motivate, inspire, and reinforce the positives of the retail store. At the end of the day, Rick will start the process of creating a retail management action plan that will bring your business to the next level. Included in the visit is:
    • Retail marketing and advertising evaluation
    • In-store retail signage review
    • Thorough website review
    • In-depth social media initiative analysis
    • Retail buying and merchandising evaluations
    • Store layout and visual merchandising analysis
    • Financial check-up
    • Retail management training suggestions
    • A review of the nuts and bolts of your retail store operation
  • Step 4: Post-visit: Via a recorded telephone call, the final retail management action plan prepared by Rick Segel & Associates will be discussed, modified and accepted. It will be delivered to the store owner/manager on the next business day.
  • Step 5: One-month check-up: This will take place 30-days after the retail management action plan has been accepted and will be comprised of a phone call reviewing the progress on the retail management action plan.
  • Step 6: 3-Month Check-up: This step is an extension of Step 5 with the addition of recommendations of adjustments to the long-term retail management action plan.
